Michael Butler Construction Limited, a construction company based on the edge of the Cotswolds between Charlbury and Chipping Norton.

Michael Butler Construction has a vast wealth of knowledge in the construction industry, accumulated over a long career in the business. With Michael beginning his career in 1979 as a apprentice bricklayer.

Since 1999, Michael has specialized in period home extensions, alterations and renovations.

The company has built up a strong reputation and worked across a wide range of properties. With projects ranging from repointing a porch to total home redesign and refurbishments.

Michael Butler Construction offers free advice and quotations. We will guide you through the whole planning and design process with our recommended architect and structural engineers.

Chruch Enstone - In keeping period extension

Two years after the initial kitchen garage conversion we were asked back to build a bedroom and bathrroom over the existing Entrance hall.

We matched the stonework and tradtional sash windows on this listed building. All finished to a very high stamdard.

Charlbury - Modern Glass Extension

Modern Glass extension and garage conversion.

We totally refurbished this bungalow adding 2 new bathrooms and a spacious glass Kitchen , lounge extension

Lidstone - Double Extension

We added a large extension in keeping with the style of this period stone cottage. With the lower ground floor being a partial basement that we built into the hill itself. This addition to the property added an entrance hall, and a bedroom complete with an ensuite.

A few years after completing the first extension, the owner asked us to come back to build a second. The second extension was a light-filled sun-room which has been completed to a high standard with bespoke oak joinery throughout.

Church Enstone - Extensive Renovation

What started out as unusual 1970’s Stone Bungalow was transformed into a large comfortable Cotswolds home.

First, we removed the roof and most of the walls before adding a small extension to the rear. We then rebuilt the property reusing the stone from the demolition.

We then finished the property to a very high standard with features added such as a brand new bespoke oak staircase.

Spelsbury - Modern Kitchen Extension

We created stylish and modern kitchen extension to a 1950’s property.

Skylights and large bi-fold doors were added to flood the space with natural light.

Church Enstone - Period Stone Property

This property was stripped back and totally refurbished, with a matching stone extension added to the rear of the property along a new front porch.

Alongside the extension we moved 3 storey staircase to the opposite side of the house. Before finishing the restoration to a high standard complete with a suite of new windows.
